Whitefriars from the attic...
« on: January 12, 2017, 01:57:15 PM »
Hello

My father has been clearing out his attic and found a vase and dish/plate, he is convinced they are Whitefriars, the Managing Director of the factory was a neighbour of his parents and the factory was nearby in Wealdstone. Not exactly sure of the date obtained but probably between 1965 and 1975. He's also not sure whether they were a present from a neighbour or whether his father bought them.

The plate is 30cm diameter and the vase is 18.5cm high and 12.5cm in diameter.

Any insight greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, these are both Whitefriars. The vase is a 9700 in Pewter and Tangerine from 1969, ?50ish. The plate is a WF Pete Wheeler in Peacock S14 from 1969, and it must be said the plate is as pretty rare, I have checked the workbooks and there were only 55 of these made. It is certainly very sort after and I should say it must be must be worth ?250-?300, cheers Wolfie

Thanks Wolfie, very much appreciate the quality and speed of your response, not the sort of thing I'd have a clue about! Not sure what he's got in mind, I'm assuming he'll want to sell, will pass that information on...
